• What does a good day on the job site look like?
Honestly? A boring one. Everybody who's supposed to be here is here, they've got what they need, and nobody's standing around waiting on somebody else. If I'm not putting out fires, that means the planning worked, and the day mostly runs itself. I get to actually look at the work instead of chasing people.

• How do you handle it when something doesn't go as planned?
First thing I do is tell you. Same day, even if I don't have the fix yet, because the worst thing on a remodel isn't a surprise, it's finding out about it late. Then I go figure out the options, what each one costs and what it does to the timeline, and we pick together. You should never feel like your only choice is whatever I already decided to do.

• What is the most satisfying moment in a build?
Most folks are pretty nervous when we start, and that makes sense, we're tearing up your house. My favorite moment is somewhere in the middle when they stop asking me if everything is okay, because they've figured out that it is. That trust is the whole job.
